From Paul Wells - owner
Since Dibleys opened in 2002 we have learned a lot! - and
some of what we have learned from our customers has led to
our revised menus. We have also learned about our supplies,
hence the increase in the prices of some items. We apologise
to regular customers for this.
We set out to create a fun place in the community where people
could eat good food in friendly and pleasant surrounding.
I think our regular customers - who make up the largest proportion
of our diners - agree we have met those aims. We have so many
friends at Dibleys. We even have a 'Friends
of Dibleys' mailing list for news of our events, offers
and activities. If you would like to be on it please click
here.
Lunchtimes are often full and many now book a table. We hope
you will understand our desire to accommodate as many people
as possible, be flexible when you can, and thoughtful towards
our busy-ness at peak periods. If you can come outside the
peak times, you will find it quieter.
Evenings are totally different! The atmosphere, setting and
menu are transformed to provide you with a delightful evening
out. Many who have come on an evening have expressed surprise
to find such an eating place in our location, or that they
couldn't imagine the difference from our daytime image. With
such easy access and free parking it takes some of the stress
out of 'going to town' for people this side of the Trent.
The evening menu changes monthly, so pick up a copy from the
counter before you leave. When possible we ask you to make
evening bookings ahead so that we are prepared for you. The
table is yours for the evening.
If we have a 'speciality' it has become our evening functions.
We have run our own theme evenings - Spanish, Mexican, European,
Fish Night (with live demo!), Wine Tasting etc., and have
plans for many more. But we have also been privileged to cater
for some wonderful private parties for individuals' celebrations,
group nights out and professional groups. Being small and
personal (the business, NOT the staff!) we are able to give
individual attention to these and customers have been generous
in their praise.
In all this development I want to thank all the staff at
Dibleys who have worked so hard. Without them all ... and
those who have served us so well in the past ... there would
be no Dibleys.
